The Aalto Inn research seafront hotel was completed in 2012. The hotel has more than 50 self-catering apartments of approximately 30-80 square meters, which welcomes international researchers to stay in Finland from a few months up to a couple of years.
The aim was to build an architecturally distinctive, high-quality, environmentally-friendly and energy efficient hotel. The hotel has been awarded the international LEED Gold certificate. In the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design classification, the Aalto Inn research hotel received the Gold level as the first European residential building.
